On the road, Sofia
The roads were heavy-duty from the Soviet era when they had to be able to support military parades with tanks rolling down the streets. After the fall of communism there was a movement to get rid of the bricks and pave it over, but nostalgia won over and they stayed. Vandals still do make off with a few here or there to keep - or sell - as memorabilia.
